Hello Monday

Welcome to Monday! 

This week we are talking about “Who is in your family?” so this afternoon I had the children draw me a picture of their family (who they lived with) and I went around and labeled them.

Here is a sneak peek at two of the families that were drawn:

Tomorrow we will put them on construction paper and I will hang them up in the hallway for everyone to see as they walk by.

We also started literacy centers last week and one of the centers is a reading comprehension center. I have 5 pairs of headphones hooked up to an old school boom-box (who remembers those as a kid?) and the kids sit around a cart listening to the book of the week. When they are done they go back to their seat and work on a comprehension activity. Since they can't write yet it is very simple, write the title of the book and draw their favorite part.
